VARIATION OF WATER PARTICLE VELOCITY IN LANDSLIDE-GENERATED SURFACE WAVE FOR DIFFERENT TIME MOMENTS
Maximal wave velocity with which the wave runs down from a dry beach is less than 5 m /sec while the crest moves towards deep water with a velocity of ca. 3 m per sec. The velocity of formed second crest is directed towards the beach and, at the end of generation, i.e. when the landslide stops, reaches 6 m per sec.

| Note: In this figure, the character of velocity change of wave can be seen. It can be observed that a maximal wave velocity, with which the wave runs down from a dry beach, is less than 5 m /sec, while the crest moves towards deep water with velocity near 3 m / sec. The velocity of the second crest formed is directed to the beach and by generation end, i.e. when the landslide stops, 6 m/sec is reached. |
